If you are a parent involved in coaching or managing your child(ren)’s sports team, hats off to you! Being involved is very time consuming but so rewarding at the end of the day. My family didn’t play a lot of sports growing up, mostly because we didn’t have a lot of money, but I’ve made it my goal to participate in any activity with my kids, whether it be tossing a ball in the summer, to cartwheels in the backyard, to coaching/managing their team. I believe in a healthy and fit lifestyle for my kids and the best way of having that is through demonstration.
These necklaces were a hit, not only with the kids, but the parents too. Many of the parents thought they were bought from a store and couldn’t believe that they were made from a Home Depot washer! Why thank you, thank you very much! ;D
Here are the supplies you’ll need for this craft….

If your girls are anything like mine, they LOVE accessories such as headbands! I was tired of having all of their headbands shoved into a drawer, so I searched Pinterest and Etsy for some ideas and decided to make myself a headband holder.
I will show YOU how to make it step by step! Here’s a list of the items that you’ll need…
- A Roll of Paper Towel (with paper towel still on it) or a Larger Sized Tube
- Foam (only if you’re using a larger sized tube instead of paper towel)
- Pillow Case or Fabric
- Wood Pedestal (About $3.00 in the wood section of your local craft store)
- Paint and Paint Brush
- Hot Glue + Glue Gun
- Needle and Thread
- 2-4 Elastics
- Cardboard (Enough for two circles about the same size as your holder)
- Decoration (Flowers, Jewels, Feather Boa – Top of Holder)
I used a larger sized tube and foam for mine, but that’s only because I got the tubes free from work, but a roll of paper towel would work just as good.

Ok, I know that title might sound a little harsh, as I am sure there are tons of moms who work full-time jobs and still have blogs and time to do things! I guess I put this title to give a little insight as to the reason why I started this blog in the first place…. I am not posting things to make money for being so awesome at creating diy projects and then selling my work, I really enjoy making things and finding really good deals, so that when my project is done I can say, “It only cost me $10 – Screw you Homesense!” (Totally kidding, I love Homesense!)
Now, I work a full-time job and then come home to take care of my two daughters, two dogs and two husbands (Kidding again…I only have one of those). I don’t have a lot of extra time in the day to make or do a lot of my own projects, so sometimes, my projects sit in my craft area for days sometimes even months! If you plan on following my blog, let’s just say it’s not going to be updated twice a day or EVEN every day for that matter….I’m busy and have 101 other things to do, like make dinner, lunches, helping with homework or getting my one Ellen episode in, while eating some potato chips. Lol The point is, I can show you some step-by-step (Ooo Baby) projects, that you can ACTUALLY make, that will look really good and wont cost a lot of $$$ cha ching $$$. Now, I am not saying that I am the ONLY person on the worldwide web that can show you crafts or diy projects for cheap, but I am hoping, that when you follow my site, you wont be overwhelmed with the things that I can show you and that you’ll be able to diy and show me all the fun things you were able to create for yourself or for your kids! I hope that I can explain all the steps in an easy and logical way, so that anyone could do it, or how I like to say “Even Missie Can Do” (haha Inside Joke). I can’t tell you how many websites I’ve been to and thought “Ok, umm, wait…GO BACK, GO BACK…I think you missed a step there!”
So anyways….I hope you are able to take something from my blog and I am hoping I am able to provide you with all the tools needed to create projects for you, your kids or even friends and please keep in mind that I also work a full-time job. Enjoy!
