Santa had gotten our family of four, tickets to ‘Cirque du Soleil-Toruk’ December 26th show. I have to start off by saying, I LOVE Avatar! It’s one of my favorite movies and the movie really spoke to me about how humans suck and how much the Na’vi people respect and love the world they live in. Anyways, my family of 4 got all dressed up and it took us about an hour and a half to get downtown and then search for parking. We made the trek through the snow to get to Roger’s Place and found our seats. We sat down and made ourselves comfortable and I then reminded my girls to sit still during the show and make sure to not kick their feet into the back of the other person’s chair, which they didn’t and they turned out to be very good girls. Behind us, however, was a family of 11 (Grandpa, Grandma, 5 kids: ages 2 to 8 and mom/dad, aunties and uncles). Continue reading “Crappy parents make for crappy kids…”
Let’s start off by saying, I DO NOT like Chili and neither do my kids. Maybe it’s the dryness/thickness or even the chili spice, but either way, we are not the biggest fan of standard run of the mill Chili. BUT this recipe is different and everyone (including my one daughter who hates pineapple and my half Asian step daughter) LOVES it! It is so moist and full of flavor and well, sweet (which I am sure you got from the title).
For the most part, this is a pretty simple recipe….you just take everything and toss it into a roasting pan and cook. The only pain is cooking the beef and bacon before adding to the pan. My mom adapted the recipe from a lady at work and then gave it to me, so here it is!
If your kids don’t like this, than you might want to bring them to the doctor and get them checked ;-D Lol jk
Ok, I know that title might sound a little harsh, as I am sure there are tons of moms who work full-time jobs and still have blogs and time to do things! I guess I put this title to give a little insight as to the reason why I started this blog in the first place…. I am not posting things to make money for being so awesome at creating diy projects and then selling my work, I really enjoy making things and finding really good deals, so that when my project is done I can say, “It only cost me $10 – Screw you Homesense!” (Totally kidding, I love Homesense!)
Now, I work a full-time job and then come home to take care of my two daughters, two dogs and two husbands (Kidding again…I only have one of those). I don’t have a lot of extra time in the day to make or do a lot of my own projects, so sometimes, my projects sit in my craft area for days sometimes even months! If you plan on following my blog, let’s just say it’s not going to be updated twice a day or EVEN every day for that matter….I’m busy and have 101 other things to do, like make dinner, lunches, helping with homework or getting my one Ellen episode in, while eating some potato chips. Lol The point is, I can show you some step-by-step (Ooo Baby) projects, that you can ACTUALLY make, that will look really good and wont cost a lot of $$$ cha ching $$$. Now, I am not saying that I am the ONLY person on the worldwide web that can show you crafts or diy projects for cheap, but I am hoping, that when you follow my site, you wont be overwhelmed with the things that I can show you and that you’ll be able to diy and show me all the fun things you were able to create for yourself or for your kids! I hope that I can explain all the steps in an easy and logical way, so that anyone could do it, or how I like to say “Even Missie Can Do” (haha Inside Joke). I can’t tell you how many websites I’ve been to and thought “Ok, umm, wait…GO BACK, GO BACK…I think you missed a step there!”
So anyways….I hope you are able to take something from my blog and I am hoping I am able to provide you with all the tools needed to create projects for you, your kids or even friends and please keep in mind that I also work a full-time job. Enjoy!
